U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has updated several Automated

Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) documents posted on CBP.gov. The updated documents include:

• ACE AESTIR Appendix X

- EPA added as ‘Required’ HTS/Schedule B code has been added 8548.10.0580 and the following code has been removed 8548.10.0580 and ‘May be Required’ 8548.10.0540, 8548.10.0580, 8548.10.2500 and removed 7802.11.0030

- ATF updated the guidance to exporters, reads as follows –

ATF issues export permits (ATF Form 9) for machineguns, silencers, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, destructive devices, and a class of miscellaneous firearms defined by the National Firearms Act as “any other weapons.” ATF does not issue export permits for conventional pistols, revolvers, rifles or shotguns. The Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Schedule B codes are not unique for these ATF regulated commodities and therefor no HTS or Schedule B will require the ATF data. The ATF data elements are required for an export shipment when a Federal Firearms License (FFL) and/or permit (ATF Form 9) are required.
