On October 15, 2015, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published a new Federal Register Notice (FRN), (80 FR 62082) announcing the modification of the National Customs Automation Program (NCAP) Test concerning the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Document Image System (DIS). The FRN updates language regarding eligibility, future eligibility updates, and information on the new method of submission of accepted documents to DIS.

CBP has also updated the DIS Implementation Guide (IG) posted on CBP.gov. The DIS IG provides record layouts, interface requirements, and communication protocol for the submission of electronic documentation.

Finally, CBP has issued a new document – ACE Basics: DIS. This document provides an overview of what DIS is, how the process works, how to submit documents, and how to process submissions.
