Home Repair Loan & Grant Funding is Available NOW!
USDA Rural Development is dedicated to strengthening communities by helping people stay in their own home and keep it in good repair. If you own your own home in a rural area and need repairs, the USDA Rural Development Home Repair Loan and Grant Program may be able to help. The program offers low interest loans and grants to help homeowners fix health and safety issues in their homes. This program makes life-changing differences for homeowners that need critical repairs but lack the resources to make them.

What help is available?
- Loans up to $40,000
- 1% interest
- Up to 20 years to repay
- Grants up to $10,000
- For homeowners 62 years or older
- Grants do not need to be repaid unless the home is sold within 3 years
Examples of home repair loan and grant use:
- A homeowner fixed a leaking roof to prevent water damage and mold
- A homeowner replaced broken pipes and leaks in their septic system
- A homeowner replaced a broken furnace to keep the home safe and livable
- An elderly homeowner installed a wheelchair ramp and widened doorways to be able to safely move into and around their home
Eligibility:
- Be the homeowner and occupy the house
- Be unable to obtain affordable credit elsewhere
- Have a household income that does not exceed the very low limit by county
- For grants, be age 62 or older
