USDA Final Rule - Lender Financial and Participation Requirements

On August 31, 2022 a Final Rule was published in the Federal Register which implements an efficient and robust management and oversight structure of lenders in the Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program.  The Final Rule updates the requirements for federally supervised lenders, establishes minimum net worth and experience requirements for non-supervised lenders, and amends the approved lender participation requirements.  In addition, the Final Rule provides additional guidance regarding applicants with delinquent child support payments, as well as streamlines the requirements for builder-contractors.

The Final Rule will be effective November 29, 2022.
