SFH Guaranteed Loan Program to Begin Accepting the Redesigned URLA Form – GUS Impact
IMPORTANT DATES:
- The New Guaranteed Underwriting System (GUS) will go live March 1, 2021.
- Legacy GUS will retire on February 27, 2021.
- Between now and close of business on February 26, 2021, lenders may continue to import data into legacy GUS using a Fannie Mae 1003 v3.2 flat file or the MISMO AUS v2.3.1 XML file and upload a copy of the newly redesigned 1003 in support of data entry (i.e. if required by GUS Findings Report).
TECHNICAL DETAILS:
- USDA Rural Development (RD) Single Family Housing (SFH) will accept the redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) FORM from all lenders that have begun production use of the new URLA form prior to the March 1, 2021 mandate.
- Legacy Guaranteed Underwriting System (GUS) will not be ready to accept the redesigned URLA electronic DATASET until March 1, 2021
- New GUS is on target to go live on March 1, 2021, coinciding with Freddie Mac’s and Fannie Mae’s mandated use of the redesigned URLA. New GUS will introduce a new look and feel as well as the ability to accept an imported file in the FNMA DU MISMO 3.4 v1.8.1 format only.
OPEN LENDER READINESS TESTING:
Lenders are encouraged to participate in Open Lender Readiness Testing to confirm the ability to successfully import the FNMA DU MISMO 3.4 v.1.8.1 data file in the new layout. Lenders with an active Lender Participation Agreement (Form RD 3555-16 or RD 1980-16) and an active GUS User Agreement can request access to and utilize our new Guaranteed Underwriting System Lender Test Environment (GUS LTE).
