USDA is actively monitoring reports about the impact the spread of coronavirus in the United States is having across the country.  We encourage servicers to utilize the full suite of loss mitigation tools available to provide short term payment relief in accordance with our existing policies to assist borrowers who may be unable to make their monthly loan payment as a result of the spread of COVID-19.  These servicing options can be found in the Loss Mitigation guide which is located in attachment 18-A of Chapter 18 of the 3555 Technical Handbook.  We would also like to remind servicers to ensure they have a business continuity plan in place that will allow them to continue to conduct business operations in the event of a greater impact to one of more of their locations.
