USDA Rural Development Announces Curtis Anderson as Acting Administrator of The Rural Housing Service
WASHINGTON, Dec. 19, 2017 – Assistant to the Secretary
for Rural Development Anne Hazlett today announced the appointment of Curtis
Anderson as Acting Administrator of Rural Development’s Rural Housing Service.
Anderson was appointed as
Chief of Staff of USDA Rural Development’s Rural Housing Service on Dec. 4. He
has more than 25 years of executive experience in rural-mission organizations
in both the private and public sector. Anderson understands the needs of rural
families and has a passion for serving rural communities. Prior to being
appointed, Anderson worked as a strategic advisor for telecommunications
associations and companies, specializing in program and legislative issues
directly impacting rural communities. Anderson has additional experience at
Farm Credit and the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture. He
previously served as the Deputy Administrator for USDA Rural Development’s
Rural Utilities Service, managing the administration of $10 billion in grants
and loans annually for rural electrification, telecommunications, and the development
of water and waste infrastructure.
This
leadership change is effective Dec. 18. USDA Rural Development encourages
partners and stakeholder groups to reach out to Anderson in his new role to
build on existing partnerships and facilitate new relationships.
