State Director's Message

Wyoming State Director
Connie Baker Wolfe

Connie Baker Wolfe

It has been a busy summer at Rural Development. I wanted to share with you some of the faces and special openings, projects and events we have done over the summer.

Our work is very important to all of us at RD and we are proud to be a partner in helping families buy or renovate their homes. We are especially pleased to be helping families in Lusk to rebuild after last year’s devastating flood.

South Big Horn County Hospital reopened earlier this summer – welcome news to residents in that corner of the state. We have honored those who serve and we have recognized excellence in the work place.

As we get closer to the end of the fiscal year, we intend to finish strong!

Come talk to us, share your ideas and your community’s needs.

We want to be your partner.

Connie Baker Wolfe

Lusk Family

Ervin Cox, a United States Marine Corps veteran and retired plumber, and his daughter Dixie Blaney, a former dispatcher with the sheriff’s office, were at home during the floods in Lusk in June 2015 when the floodwaters began rising into their mobile home at a rapid pace. They are using the Section 502 Direct Loan Program to rebuild their home and expect to have the finishing touches completed and ready to move in before October.

House

Cox and Blaney contacted the Riverton Office and applied for the home loan. After the loan was approved, construction began with the help of the Mennonite Disaster Service, who is building six houses in the rural community. Construction is almost completed on their new home.
