Joel Larson joins SERCH as Acting Director


SERCH Director Steve McNulty will spend the next year on a research sabbatical. Joel Larson, Climate Analyst with USDA Climate Change Program Office will serve as Acting Director from February through June and will focus on translating science into tools for agriculture, forestry, and rural communities.

SERCH contributes to hands-on climate adaptation workshop


SERCH Acting Coordinator Michael Gavazzi shared an overview of southeastern climate impacts with land managers at a workshop at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida on February 3. The workshop focused on developing adaptation actions for natural resource management decisions.

SERCH team seeks feedback on email alert products


SERCH is developing two new email alert tools. The Fire Weather Alert tells subscribers about weather conditions for wildfire risk and prescribed burning. The Emerald Ash Borer Alert is issued when and where the insects are expected to reach adult flying stage. SERCH staff are seeking feedback on the alerts from target users.
