The new treatment schedule T415-d Garbage and Quarantine Material Interceptions for Destruction - Wood Products has been added to the list of available treatments in the Treatment Manual to provide an emergency phytosanitary destruction method for dunnage, pallets, wood packaging material and other non-compliant wood products impeding trade at U.S. ports of entry. The new treatment schedule describes a process of using a wood shredder and a hammermill grinder combination to provide for the mechanical destruction of possible pests associated with these wood products. This treatment has been added under the authority of 7 CFR 305.3(b) and is pending final regulatory approval.
