The Monthly Report for October 2020 is available on the USDA APHIS VS website.
Highlights of the October 2020 Report
As of October 31, 2020, 3,063 animals have been sampled for scrapie in FY 2021; 2,983 animals were sampled at slaughter and 80 on-farm; 2,442 were sheep and 621 were goats. To date no animals have tested positive for classical scrapie in FY 2021.
Resources
- To report a sheep or goat with clinical signs of scrapie, please contact your local VS office or State Veterinarian's office. APHIS may pay indemnity for adult sheep or goats with neurological or other signs or that are determined to be consistent with scrapie. Alternatively, an APHIS veterinarian could provide live animal scrapie testing for these animals.
