NOTICE: No Significant Impacts for EA on Eradicating Cattle Fever (Laguna Atascosa and Lower Rio Grande Valley)

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Veterinary Services and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Wildlife Refuge System, Southwest Region have issued their Finding of No Significant Impacts (FONSI) for an environmental assessment (EA) concerning Cattle Fever Tick Eradication on Laguna Atascosa and Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuges. The EA analyzed the potential environmental impacts of reducing cattle tick populations by implementing additional eradication strategies on refuge property. Based on the analyses in the EA and input from the public, the agencies concluded that implementing the preferred action alternative would not have a significant impact on the quality of the human environment.
