A new U.S. Department of
Agriculture (USDA) report, Community Supported Agriculture: New Models for
Changing Markets, highlights six case studies of farmers using the community
supported agriculture (CSA) direct-to-consumer business model and how that
model has changed since the 1980s.
This report, supported by a
cooperative research agreement with the University of Kentucky, explores how
CSA managers and growers are innovating and experimenting with non-traditional
business practices in order to increase consumer support. Check out the report
and learn more about CSAs that are adding new services and amenities to better
accommodate customer desires for broader product selection, extended product
availability and flexible subscription/payment terms.
