Progress Report Supplement (PRS) Data Collection Now Open

Senior Corps Banner

Dear Senior Corps Grantee:

The Progress Report Supplement (PRS), formerly known as the Project Profile and Volunteer Activity (PPVA) survey, is now open in eGrants.  As in previous years, all Senior Corps grantees are required to complete this annual Progress Report Supplement. This year’s launch of the PRS was delayed due to the recent lapse in Federal appropriations and the resulting furlough. We have adjusted deadlines accordingly to provide you with sufficient time to complete and submit your PRS.

The overall description and step by step instructions for the Foster Grandparent, Senior Companion, and RSVP programs can be found as follows:

2013 Progress Report Supplement (PRS) Data Collection

The Progress Report Supplement (PRS) is the annual data survey and data collection conducted by CNCS/Senior Corps to aggregate the latest numbers and accomplishments of Foster Grandparent, Senior Companion, and RSVP grantees.

Below are the eGrants step-by-step instructions for completing the PRS. You can use these instructions to guide you through the screens and the data elements. The reporting period for the data is July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013. The new deadline to submit your completed survey in eGrants is December 6, 2013. The website will be updated with this new date as soon as possible.

As always, if you have questions, please contact your State Office.

Please note the following key dates:

  • The reporting period for projects is July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
  • The due date for you to complete your PRS survey and submit it in eGrants is now December 6, 2013.

You will see one main change to PRS in this year: a more extensive and categorical list of veterans data fields. We made these changes to align data collection with the agency-wide veterans data metrics. We realize that you may not collect data in such a granular way. Please do your best to report data in these categories. If you do not know, or are uncertain of a response, you can use “0” as the response.

One other factor relates solely to RSVP grantees that competed in 2013, and were awarded for an April 1 start. If you received a competitive award in RSVP in 2013 to start April 1st, your new grant operates under the national performance measures and does not use the historical service categories. Therefore, this PRS data collection includes ten months under  your old grant, with the legacy service categories and two months under your new grant with the performance measures. Again, please do your best, using your data collection systems, to complete the service category data fields. If you are an RSVP grantee that competed in 2013 for a grant with a July 1 start date, the issue does not affect you, as the PRS data collection covers the previous grant only. This issue does not affect FGP and SCP. The PRS screens for FGP and SCP do not use service categories.

As always, thank you for everything you do, and for the service of your volunteers.
