AmeriCorps' Office of Grant Administration learned of an eGrants limitation for amendments to move funds to or from the formula prime. Commissions are not able to modify the commission prime budget; however, this is something that portfolio managers can do. When a commission identifies a need to move funds to or from the formula prime award, please provide your portfolio manager the amount that you want to move on or off your prime.
Please note that AmeriCorps is prioritizing completing awardmaking through the end of the fiscal year. Amendments may require more time than usual during this period. We encourage you to plan thoughtfully to minimize the number of these amendments necessary. Please see page 7 of "Initiating, Processing, or Requesting Post-Award Amendments on AmeriCorps State and National Awards" for more timing considerations when requesting amendments.
When you make a request, your portfolio manager will initiate the amendment, adjust the amount of funds on the prime, and then return the amendment to you. You can then verify that the amount on the prime is correct, add or remove the funds from the subgrants, and submit the amendment. Please direct your questions to your portfolio manager.
