VISTA Progress Report Supplement
Each October, we ask you to complete the AmeriCorps VISTA progress report supplement with your project’s key accomplishments from the past fiscal year. The information you provide allows us to share how AmeriCorps resources yield impressive results across the country.
This is a required report if you had an active memorandum of agreement and AmeriCorps members serving in the VISTA program between Oct. 1, 2022, and Sep. 30, 2023. Review the instructions and complete the report in eGrants by Monday, Nov. 13.
For more information about how to successfully complete the report, visit the AmeriCorps VISTA Campus for the on-demand module called “VISTA Sponsor Reporting Requirements" and select "The VISTA Progress Report Supplement.” You will need to login to the VISTA Campus in order to access the module.
Please mark your calendars with these key dates and help us tell the AmeriCorps VISTA story by completing this report. By sharing the results, we can all demonstrate how vital AmeriCorps is to your organizations and to the communities you serve.
Introducing AmeriCorps 2023 State of the Evidence Report
Earlier this year, AmeriCorps began a systematic review of our impact on the nation. AmeriCorps turns 30 this year, and our members, volunteers, grantees, and sponsors have leveraged service for the betterment of our communities. Even when the focus of your work is on serving one meal, delivering one shot, or conserving one space, your acts of service contribute to our larger mission. The state of the evidence report takes stock of our shared impact by compiling data on where we have been and using that to determine AmeriCorps potential for the next thirty years.
We invite you to read the AmeriCorps 2023 state of the evidence report. The report highlights the impact of our collective work and showcases the transformative power AmeriCorps has on so many lives.
You can learn how participants and alumni are impacted by their service, how our partner organizations benefit from AmeriCorps programs, the positive impact on communities our programs have, and evidence on volunteering and civic engagement across the United States.
You also can use the report’s appendix A as a resource to dive into research, national service program evaluations, agency research, academic and scholarly articles, and grantee model or intervention evaluations. The tables in the appendix highlight our framework with reports tagged specifically with key topics of interest.
AmeriCorps will be using this report to identify gaps and think through new evidence building strategies, identify new efforts and opportunities, re-examine and update our AmeriCorps 2022-2026 learning agenda, as well as use this report to continue to inform agency learning and continuous quality improvement.
This report covers the evidence built from July 2017 to December 2022. The previous 2017 state of the evidence report covers from 2013 to 2017. The office of research and evaluation is committed to continuing the assessment of our evidence base and will be providing future State of the Evidence Reports on a bi-annual cadence.
We welcome your feedback and thoughts on the state of the evidence at evaluation@cns.gov. Happy reading!
