We are just 3 days away from the annual Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service. Thanks to everyone planning service events and those who plan to volunteer. This year, AmeriCorps is collaborating with the Presidential Inaugural Committee on the National Day of Service to engage more people in service on King Day and to commit to service throughout the year.
It’s Not Too Late
With just a few days to go, there’s still time to make your own service plans for MLK Day 2021.
You can search for projects in your community to join or create your own COVID-19 safe service activities, using some of the tips available on the website. Here are a few ways you can engage, either on your own or as a group, keeping in mind COVID-19 safety guidelines:

Organize your family and friends to engage to clean up a nearby park.

Check on or deliver care packages to isolated neighbors.

Find an organization you’re passionate about and make a commitment to serve with them year-round to Honor Dr. King’s legacy throughout the year.

Donate to a local organization in need.

Sign-up to learn about opportunities to serve year round.

Share Your Service

Register your service project. Whether you are still looking for volunteers or not, registering your project allows the media to find you and helps others who are thinking about serving get ideas to help their community.

Join the Livestream
AmeriCorps is pleased to share that in celebration of service and King Day, the Presidential Inaugural Committee will host a live stream on Monday, Jan. 18, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
