CNCS New Grants and Member Management (GMM) Coming Fall 2017

CNCS New Grants and Member Management (GMM) Coming Fall 2017

Greetings CNCS Grantees and Project Sponsors,

Last month, the IT Modernization Program Team updated you on the plans for our new Grants and Member Management (GMM) system that will replace eGrants this fall. This message is the first in a series of regular updates that CNCS will provide as we move closer to our fall 2017 launch! Future messages will include updates on schedules, education and training resources, and answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs).

Beginning in late July and going through early September CNCS staff will perform user testing to ensure the functionality is ready to support the complete grant cycle - from applying for funding to reporting and close out.

In the coming months, CNCS will launch a dedicated web page on NationalServices.gov for one-stop access to the latest GMM information, including access to training resources, system demonstration videos, and FAQs. Stay tuned for more information!

The IT Modernization Program Team looks forward to sharing more GMM news with you in the upcoming months. You can send questions to ITMODFeedback@cns.gov.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Grants and Member Management (GMM)?

GMM is a replacement system for eGrants that is built on Salesforce software.

What will be different from eGrants?

eGrants’s software is outdated and inflexible. GMM is built utilizing a state-of- the-art software that is flexible and user friendly. GMM will have a new look and feel, but will perform all the functionality previously available and will have enhanced user features.

What are some benefits of the new system?

  • A “recent” items pane to easily access records you have been working on
  • Tasks system to keep track of items to complete and to manage workloads within your organization
  • Dashboards to view relevant summary data
  • Direct access to training throughout the system
  • User-friendly search function to easily find records
  • Ability to build, customize, and print reports
  • Ability for all users to upload and store documents
  • Self-service change password function

How can I request an account?

Once the system is live, users will be able to click on the log-in link for GMM at www.nationalservice.gov and create a new account from that page.

How can I receive training?

Training will be provided by the program offices (AmeriCorps State and National, AmeriCorps VISTA, Senior Corps, etc.) in the fall. Self-service materials will be available both in GMM and on the CNCS website.

What are the technical and browser requirements for GMM?

  • GMM is a web-based system that can be accessed through your internet browser from any computer.

Only Internet Explorer (IE) 11 is recommended for GMM at this time to ensure integration to eGrants for functions such as progress reports, performance measures, and member management (which only supports IE) functions appropriately
