The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released several materials related to implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act.
CMS has great news for Medicare beneficiaries. Because of the new Inflation Reduction Act, as of January 1, 2023, Medicare Part D drug plans now cover most vaccines at no cost to people with Medicare. People with Medicare can also get other vaccines for free with Medicare Part B and Medicare Advantage, such as seasonal flu, COVID-19, and others.

Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program
The information collection request (ICR) for the revised drug price negotiation process is now available. CMS invites public comments on the data and information the federal government will collect for consideration if a Primary Manufacturer submits a counteroffer for a selected drug during the negotiation process. The ICR is open for public input for 30 days. The comment period will close August 24, 2023.
