CFPB Update: March 21, 2012CFPB Proposes a Rule to Protect Privileged InformationThe Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced a proposed rule that would codify protections for privileged information submitted to the Bureau by regulated entities. CFPB Handling Consumer Complaints on Private Student LoansWe are now accepting complaints from borrowers having difficulties with their private student loans. CFPB's Petraeus Outlines Help Available for Military HomeownersHolly Petraeus, Assistant Director for Servicemember Affairs, provided information on assistance available for military homeowners as part of the recent settlement between the federal government, 49 state attorneys general, and five of the largest mortgage loan servicers. CFPB Now Sharing Complaints with FTC Consumer SentinelThe Bureau has begun sharing complaints with Consumer Sentinel, an online database of consumer complaints maintained by the Federal Trade Commission that helps law enforcement track and respond to consumer complaints. CFPB Begins Accepting Complaints on Auto and Installment LoansWe recently launched the first phase of a new system to help consumers who have problems with certain auto loans and other types of installment loans.
