Stan Rolark's retirement
It is with great sadness, and yet admiration, that we here at the Census Bureau are saying goodbye to our longtime colleague, Stan Rolark. Stan has decided to retire after 34 years at the Census Bureau. Many of you remember Stan from his days when he was the Chief of the Customer Liaison Office, which among other things, oversaw the State Data Center and Census Information Center programs. More recently, some of you knew Stan as the Chief of the Public Information Office, or currently as Chief of the Center for New Media and Promotions Office. Stan has worn many hats over the years at the Census Bureau. So that you all can read it in Stan's own words, please see his retirement note below to his colleagues here at the Census Bureau.

Well folks. All good things must come to an end and for me it's time to throw in the towel. I've decided to retire after 34 years here at Census. First and foremost, I want to thank all of you for your support while I was out on sick leave. That really meant a lot to me and contributed greatly to my recovery. I'm not yet 100% back but the doctors are happy with my progress so all is well. I've enjoyed working with all of you in COM and will miss those interactions. (Though I can't say I'll miss all the meetings. LOL!) There is so much talent in COM that I'm sure you'll be successful moving forward. Next steps for me include R & R, finally completing house projects, and getting started on my Bucket List. Per HRD, when you retire, you should do so at the end of the month or the beginning of the month. So Jan. 3rd (this Friday) is my last official day as an employee. However, I'm taking that day as my AWS day, so that means today is my last day in the office. Funny how 34 years boils down to one day! Once again, thanks to you all for your support during my tenure in COM. I especially want to thank the folks in CNMP, PIO, and those of you who I worked with while in CLO. All of you were (are) outstanding!!!
I wish you all good health, happiness and success in the future and a very successful and happy New Year!!!
Stan
