Calendar — The Census Bureau has posted anticipated release dates for
each regular and recurring statistical product expected to be released in 2015.
The products are listed in the Census Bureau’s online product calendar, which will be updated as needed
throughout the year.

which one of our 130-plus annual surveys are being conducted in your community. In a variety of surveys
and censuses, evolving from the first census in 1790, the Census Bureau
provides official information about America’s people, businesses, industries
and institutions. See surveys currently in each Census Bureau region:
OnTheMap Update — Version 6.4.1 of the OnTheMap application will include
LEHD Origin-Destination Employment Statistics (LODES) for 2013, following up on
the release of 2012 data in June. OnTheMap now contains 12 years of data
(2002-2013). 2013 LODES data contain employment statistics for 48 states and
the District of Columbia (not included are Kansas and Massachusetts).
Additionally, OnTheMap for Emergency Management will be updated to reflect the

American Community Survey
Who Drives to
Work? Commuting by Automobile in the United States: 2013 — This American Community Survey report focuses on patterns
of commuting by private vehicles. It highlights differences in rates of
automobile commuting by key population characteristics, such as age, race,
ethnicity and the communities in which workers live. (Tentatively scheduled for
release Aug. 13.)

Measuring Race and Ethnicity Across the Decades: 1790-2010 — This interactive infographic allows users to understand how
race and ethnicity categories have changed over time since the 1790 Census.
(Tentatively scheduled for release in August.)
Income and Earnings Estimates:
First Quarter 2013 — Using the two later
waves (14 and 15) from the 2008 Survey of Income and Program Participation
panel, this table package presents income and earnings estimates at the
individual, family and household level for the first quarter (January, February
and March) 2013. Estimates are provided by selected demographic
characteristics, such as gender, race/ethnicity, age, marital status and
highest level of educational attainment. Monthly income and earnings
estimates for individuals, families and households are also included. (Tentatively
scheduled for release in August.)
Languages Other Than English Spoken at Home — This table package presents statistics from the American
Community Survey on over 340 detailed languages spoken at home in the United
States. It includes estimates of the number of speakers and their English
ability for each language for the nation, states and Puerto Rico as well as
counties and core-based statistical areas (metropolitan and micropolitan areas)
with populations of 100,000 or more and 25,000 or more speakers of languages
other than English or Spanish. (Tentatively scheduled for release in
August.)
Economic
2012
Statistics of U.S. Businesses — Datafor metropolitan
statistical areas and counties by enterprise employment size. Statistics
include number of firms, establishments, employment, annual payroll and
estimated receipts. (Scheduled for release August 10.)
2012 Economic Census,
Survey of Business Owners, Company Statistics Series: Preliminary Company
Summary — The Survey of Business Owners provides a detailed portrait of
America’s businesses and business owners from the national to the local level
once every five years. The preliminary company summary will provide
estimates for number of firms, receipts, employment and payroll by
gender, ethnicity, race and veteran status at the U.S., state and sector
levels. The final company summary will be released in December 2015 and will
include estimates at the detail geography and NAICS levels.
The characteristics of businesses and business owners will also be
published in December 2015. (Tentatively scheduled for Aug. 18.)
2013 Manufacturing and International Trade Report
(MITR) — This report from the U.S. Census Bureau provides a
comprehensive comparison between detailed manufacturing product class data and
associated import and export data. The data are published on a North American
Industry Classification System (NAICS) basis from the 2012 Economic Census
Subject Series and the 2013 Annual Survey of Manufactures, presented with
official U.S. export and import merchandise trade statistics. The first report
was released on December 18, 2014. (Tentatively scheduled for release in
August.)
Completion of 2012
Economic Census Subject Series: Manufacturing — Supplements other products and
presents tabulations for the U.S. with some state detail. Reports include a
general summary, product summary, materials summary, concentration ratio
summary and location of manufacturing plants summary. (Tentatively scheduled
for release in August)
2012 Economic Census
Geographic Area Series — Continuing on a flow basis through September 2015,
this series provides detailed industry statistics by geographic area for
establishments of firms with paid employees. Data are shown on the 2012 North
American Industry Classification System
basis. These data supersede the data shown in the Industry Series and may be
superseded by data shown in later publication series for selected sectors. See:

2012
Economic Census Subject Series — Continuing on a flow basis
through June 2016, the subject seriesreports supplement other products
and present tabulations for the U.S. with some state detail. Reports for most
sectors include establishment and firm size (including legal form of organization).
Miscellaneous subjects reports for the manufacturing sector include general summary,
products summary, materials consumed summary and concentration ratios in manufacturing.
Facts for Features
Unmarried and Single Americans Week (Sept.
20-26) — The third full week of September recognizes the
nation’s unmarried Americans with an array of statistics about this group from
the Census Bureau’s demographic and economic subject areas. (Tentatively scheduled for release in August.)
Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15)
—During this monthlong observance, our nation
celebrates the culture and traditions of U.S. residents who trace their roots
to Spain, Mexico and the Spanish-speaking nations of Central America, South
America and the Caribbean. The Census Bureau joins in the celebration with this
fact sheet presenting a range of updated statistics describing the demographic
state of the nation’s Latino population. (Tentatively scheduled for release in August.)
Back to School — After a nice summer break,
students will prepare to return to school for the 2015-16 academic year. This
fact sheet presents statistics from demographic and economic subject areas
pertaining to teachers, students and the reopening of our country’s schools in
late summer. (Tentatively
scheduled for release in August.)

Advance Report on U.S. International Trade to Improve Measurement of GDP — July 30 — The Census
Bureau released “Advance Report: U.S. International Trade in Goods,” a
new monthly report providing more timely statistics on exports and imports
of goods. This report enables decision makers to improve their
measurements of the U.S. economy. Each month it will be released four-to-seven
business days in advance of the “U.S. International Trade in Goods and
Services” report and will present advance statistics for the reference month;
for example, the July 30 release will feature advance statistics for June 2015.

Survey of Public Pensions: State and Locally Administered Defined Benefit Data —July 28 — The survey provides a comprehensive look at the financial activity
of the nation’s state and locally administered defined benefit pension systems,
including cash and investment holdings, receipts, payments, pension obligations

Census of Island Areas: Puerto Rico Construction — July 28 — The construction sector includes establishments
primarily engaged in building construction, heavy and civil engineering
construction and specialty trade contractors, such as framing, electrical and
flooring. Data are presented for Puerto Rico and its combined statistical
areas, metropolitan statistical areas and municipios. The report also includes
data on the number of establishments, payroll, employment, value of business

anniversary of the costliest and one of the deadliest hurricanes to strike the

New Advance Report on International Trade Available Today —
Census Bureau Director John H. Thompson writes that the new Advance Report:
U.S. International Trade in Goods is part of ongoing efforts to release U.S.
trade data to the public as quickly as possible. The advance report will be
published up to a week before the full FT-900 U.S. International Trade in Goods
and Services report that is jointly issued by the Census Bureau and the Bureau
of Economic Analysis.
