USAID Administrator Samantha Power traveled this month to the Dominican Republic, highlighting the partnership between the country and the United States, and helping demonstrate how democracy delivers for the Dominican people. The Dominican Republic is an example of how bolstering democracy delivers economic growth and supports the lives and livelihoods of its people. Power announced three initiatives aimed at building on these successes, including by helping entrepreneurs, boosting government services, and improving women’s financial and digital literacy. “We know that there are many people of this great country who have big dreams for themselves, and for their families,” says Power, “and those dreams … are very, very tangible.”
