Engendering Industries at the Africa Energy Forum
Global research shows that as gender equality in the energy sector increases, innovation increases. Women’s leadership is key to promoting innovation in the energy sector to address climate change. Engendering Industries supports over 30 partner companies that work in renewable energy to advance workforce gender equality and improve business performance. The program recently attended the Africa Energy Forum to discuss the important role women play in addressing climate change.

Engendering Industries Partner Awarded UN Gender Equality Seal
The Dominican Republic Ministry of Women awarded Engendering Industries partner, Edesur Dominicana, S.A. (EDESUR), the United Nations Gender Equality Gold Seal for their efforts to advance workforce gender equality. EDESUR was assessed across eight categories and scored 93 percent overall, placing them in the top tier. EDESUR joins two other Engendering Industries partners in the energy sector that have achieved the same certification: Interconexión Eléctrica S.A. ESP and CELSIA in Colombia. Read the story
