USAID Ukraine Update
The U.S. Government’s partnership with the people of Ukraine is steadfast and enduring. USAID remains committed to supporting Ukraine and its people in this current crisis and, in partnership with Ukraine and our European allies, responding to the immediate and growing humanitarian needs on the ground.
Key USAID Updates:
-
USAID has deployed a Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) to respond to growing humanitarian needs stemming from Russia’s further invasion of Ukraine. USAID’s DART, which will be based primarily in Krakow, Poland, will lead the U.S. Government’s humanitarian response to help address critical humanitarian needs caused by the invasion, including responding to the needs of those internally displaced. USAID is working with partners to deliver relief supplies and commodities to meet the immediate humanitarian needs.
- USAID is scaling up its humanitarian assistance to expand ongoing humanitarian programs and provide critical relief supplies like access to primary and trauma medical care, food, and clean water.
- USAID is leveraging existing development programs to address urgent needs including responding to cyber attacks, safeguarding civil society and independent media, and ensuring the Government of Ukraine can continue communicating with its citizens.
- USAID is working closely with the U.S. State Department on the refugee response to support Ukrainians who have been displaced by the crisis.
- Tomorrow, Administrator Power will sit down for a virtual meeting with Ukrainian-Americans.
