Saving Lives at Birth Round 8 Broad Agency Announcement (BAA)
The U.S. Agency for
International Development (USAID), the Government of Norway, the Bill &
Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada (funded by the
Government of Canada), the U.K.'s Department for International Development
(DFID), and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) invite global
problem solvers to answer their eighth call for groundbreaking prevention and
treatment approaches for pregnant women and newborns in poor, hard-to-reach
communities around the time of childbirth.
Specifically,
the challenge seeks to identify and develop transformative approaches that
integrate scientific and technological advancements, better service delivery
models, and improved "demand side" innovations that empower pregnant
women and their families to practice healthy behaviors and be aware of and
access healthcare during pregnancy, childbirth, and the early postnatal period,
especially the first 48 hours after birth. Globally, an expansive
pipeline of audacious maternal and newborn health innovations has emerged over
the past seven years. In Round 8, the Saving Lives at Birth Partners seek to catalyze scale and sustainability
of the most promising solutions that are transitioning to scale.
Learn more and answer the call for innovative ideas.
Please spread the word and share this notice with a broad range of experts in a variety of disciplines. Help us spark transformational change and accelerate at the community level substantial and sustainable progress against maternal and newborn deaths and stillbirths.
