AHRQ Seeks Candidates for Director of the AHRQ Technology Assessment Program

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) announces an exciting job opportunity: Director of the AHRQ Technology Assessment Program. Duties include: planning, organizing, and managing a comprehensive national program of technology assessment activities; directing the preparation of reports and papers documenting important new developments in the field; serving as a senior AHRQ liaison to CMS on technology assessment issues and activities conducted or supported by AHRQ; and representing the Agency on national and international committees, panels, and bodies as the principal federal authority on technology assessments.

The successful candidate should have a PhD, MD or DO; expert knowledge and skill in health services research and evidence-based practice; ability to serve as a leader and technical authority to colleagues and issues related to technology assessment; ability to lead and direct projects involving the input of groups and individuals with differing interests and views; and ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with national and international health care agencies and organizations to stay aware of the newest research, methods, and developments.

Junior Service Fellowships

AHRQ is soliciting applications for time-limited Fellowship opportunities within its Intramural Fellowship Program.

The Program provides opportunities for individuals to work with leading health services researchers in the conduct and support of research on "real life" issues that support the Agency's mission and contributes to improvements in health care. Fellows are also afforded the opportunity to work with administrative protocols, gain access to AHRQ-sponsored data sets, and apply statistical analysis methods to broaden the Fellow's understanding of health services research and the Agency' effect on the health care system.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
