Roswell Gets New Training Upgrades
This week, air traffic controllers at the Roswell International Air Center (ROW) are getting a new Tower Simulation System (TSS).
The TSS projects real airport layouts, allowing air traffic controllers to practice operations and scenarios in a controlled environment. TSS can speed up training times by almost 30 percent.
ROW is also in the process of getting upgraded telecommunications, transitioning from antiquated copper to modern fiberoptic earlier this year. These connections carry radio and radar services to air traffic control facilities to provide secure and efficient data transmission.
The TSS installation comes on the heels of the One Big Beautiful Bill’s one-year anniversary. Thanks to that investment, we’ve been able to upgrade important air traffic technology at a record pace.

This week's guest Weather Squad forecaster is Lauren Due with News 12 out of New Jersey. Lauren is forecasting rain from Chicago to D.C. and down through Florida, with temperatures coming down after last week’s heat wave. Those moderate days will stick around over on the West Coast while Salt Lake City will see triple digits.
