Family Travel During Spring Break
It’s that time of year when families head out to their Spring Break destinations. Whether flying to Maui or Miami or somewhere in between, the FAA reminds travelers to pack safe and prepare their little ones for the journey. You must pack all devices with lithium batteries in carry-on luggage. This includes tablets, laptops and power banks.
Families with young kids should visit our new Kids’ Corner for helpful tips and videos. Parent Pro Tip: Sit down with your tot before your flight and watch our Turbulence Explained for Kids video so there are no surprises. Be sure to buckle up your baby in an FAA-approved child safety seat.
Check with your airline before leaving your house to make sure your flight is on time. You can check the status of any airport by visiting fly.faa.gov.Happy Spring Break, travelers!
This week’s guest Weather Squad forecaster is Betty Davis with WPLG in Miami. Betty is bringing us those Spring Break forecasts, starting out on the West Coast which is still getting an abundance of sunshine and hot temperatures. Moving east, Betty forecasts severe weather for Tornado Alley and parts of the Midwest. The East Coast will see moderate temperatures and some rain as Easter approaches.
