eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP)

This week, Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy and the FAA announced the projects that will support the eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP). This first-of-its-kind program will accelerate the safe integration of next-generation Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft into the national airspace and ensure the United States is the world leader in aviation innovation. Eight projects that span 26 states and involve leading aircraft manufacturers, operators, and state partners were selected as part of the program. You can learn more about eIPP in our fact sheet. 

FAA Replaces Decades-Old Tower in Northwest Arkansas

FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford and Rep. Steve Womack unveiled Northwest Arkansas National Airport’s new air traffic control tower. The 140-foot-tall tower—nearly two and a half times taller than the previous tower—provides better line of sight for air traffic controllers, who now have a bird’s-eye view of the airfield. New technology means greater reliability and a safer, more efficient National Airspace System for the flying public.

FAA Guest Weather Squad Forecaster

This week’s guest Weather Squad forecaster is Stevie Daniels with Baltimore’s WMAR. Stevie’s forecast highlights a cold front moving through the eastern half of the country, which could make for some turbulent flights. The western half stays quiet throughout the weekend while Tornado Alley might get a break from severe weather.
