The program helps bolster our controller workforce by placing graduates directly into an FAA air traffic facility to begin their training. The Vantis Federal Radar Data Enclave, a secure integration of unfiltered radar data from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has been activated at the Northern Plains Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Test Site in North Dakota. This will help enable beyond visual line of site (BVLOS) operations statewide, while also allowing for more frequent BVLOS flights. Frank McIntosh, chief operating officer of the FAA’s Air Traffic Organization, joined Senator John Hoeven in North Dakota to celebrate the achievement and partnership. Learn more about the project in Senator Hoeven’s Press release.
