EPA Seeks Input on New P2 Grant Opportunity Under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

EPA wants your input on a new pollution prevention grant opportunity

Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, 1 - 2:30 p.m. EDT

EPA is hosting two listening sessions to collect input on developing a new grant opportunity made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s $100 million investment in the P2 program. In support of the Biden-Harris Administration’s environmental justice goals and initiatives, the new grant opportunity will encourage products, purchasing and/or supply chains that are safer, more sustainable and environmentally preferable.

 

Nominations for 2023 Green Chemistry Challenge Awards to Open in August

Later this month, EPA will begin accepting nominations for the 2023 Green Chemistry Challenge Awards from companies or institutions that have developed a new green chemistry process or product that helps protect human health and the environment.

This webinar will feature the accomplishments of interns with MnTAP, an EPA-funded grantee at the University of Minnesota that helps the state’s businesses develop and implement industry-tailored solutions that prevent pollution at the source. The event will feature 16 projects spanning various industries and focus areas where MnTAP’s interns identified P2 solutions.

Pollution Prevention Finance Forum – Workshop 3

August 23, 2022, noon - 1:30 p.m. EDT

The Pollution Prevention Finance Forum, a project of the Environmental Financial Advisory Board (EFAB) will hold the third in a series of webinars exploring opportunities and challenges in financing technologies and practices that prevent pollution, with an initial focus on advancing opportunities for small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses. This webinar will look at potential partnership models and distribution networks for P2 projects.

Pollution Prevention Ah-Ha Moments

Check out this story about the EPA-funded Center for Industrial Services (CIS) which has helped food manufacturing facilities in Tennessee audit their energy, water and chemical use and then identify opportunities to cut waste and save money. CIS resource consultant Lynn Reed said the audits often create “ah-ha moments” for facility managers when they realize that they can implement pollution prevention solutions that help their bottom line.
