Business invited to sponsor North Worcestershire Business Awards
Awards organisers NWedR and NWBL are now calling for sponsors for the 2020 North Worcestershire Business Awards. Local businesses are now offered sponsorship opportunities for this prestigious event which will be held in November at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel near Kidderminster.
The sponsorship packages for 2020 are now available to all companies that do business in North Worcestershire. Available on a first come first served basis, these one-off sponsorship opportunities provide a top showcase for businesses and are a great morale booster for employees.

Brushing Shoulders with Bromsgrove’s Big Businesses
Council bosses brushed shoulders with one of the District’s largest employers in a bid to understand their business needs. Bromsgrove District Council Leader Karen May and Chief Executive Kevin Dicks visited LG Harris which employs 300 people at its site in Stoke Prior.

Your responses will help to influence future training provision in Worcestershire that could benefit your organisation.

Do you export goods around the world?
The Department for International Trade has launched a new digital tool to help UK businesses trade with over 160 markets around the world. The free tool will help you easily find and understand what is needed to export goods internationally. It provides product-specific and country-specific information on tariffs, regulations, the UK border and other topics all in one place. It will be updated regularly to reflect any changes to trading arrangements.

Floods prompt Free Weekend Car Parking
As part of the support to businesses after the recent flooding, Wyre Forest District Council is removing parking charges on its car parks in Stourport-on-Severn and Bewdley over the next two weekends - 14 and 15 March, 21 and 22 March. Businesses suggested free car parking as an incentive to attract visitors and increase footfall back to the towns. The cost of the free parking offer is being met by the community recovery fund, set-up to support residents and businesses affected by flooding.

Disposal of Flood Damaged Household Waste
If a resident’s insurance company has not made any arrangements for the disposal of flood damaged items from their domestic property, they can dispose of this at their local Household Recycling Centre (HRC). During the flood period Worcestershire residents who have been flooded and want to use a commercial vehicle (up to 3.5 tonnes in weight), van or trailer to take their flood damaged items to their local HRC, can collect a ‘flood permit’ from their local flood information hub / library.
