Safer sleeping messages should be an important part of your work with families who are expecting or already have a baby. Key messages need to be clear and shared regularly. Every sleep needs to be a safe sleep! Reminding parents of the importance of maintaining a safer sleep environment, even when visiting friends or going away on holiday is also a key time to talk to parents. Use the resources below to share this information. Consider where parents gather and display this information nearby such as notice boards near entrances to your buildings, reception areas or waiting rooms. If you send out an electronic newsletter to parents, why not simply cut this part of the bulletin and  insert it into your own.

The WSSCP is also delighted to add the following training to the current offer:  Coping with a Crying Baby and Safer Sleeping for Babies - What Everyone Needs to Know.

This is a 1 hour 15 minutes long session, delivered by a subject specialist and will help practitioners to have those conversations with parents around coping with crying and how to make sure that every sleep is a safer sleep.
