UPDATE: COVID-19 Health and Social Care Vaccinations – national booking service open
This message provides an important update about the COVID-19 vaccination programme. It is aimed at eligible health and social care staff who work in Adults and Health Services (including Public Health) and Children, Young People and Learning Service (Social Care, including Early Help.)
If you are an eligible health and social care worker who hasn’t booked your vaccination appointment you can now do this through the national vaccination booking system either by clicking on the website link below or by calling 119.
This is in addition to the local hospital centres you can book via the local NHS website here.
We’re encouraging everyone to try and book their vaccination appointment by mid-February if you can.
The Joint Committee on Vaccines and Immunisation (JCVI) has prioritised certain health and social care workers because they are at high risk of exposure to the virus and provide care to multiple vulnerable individuals. Full details of eligible workers are set out in the Government’s ‘Green Book’ (see page 11).
If you are unsure if you are eligible for a vaccination please discuss this with your manager, who can contact the staff vaccination group at vaccination@westsussex.gov.uk for advice. The NHS vaccination sites will only vaccinate people who are eligible.
Have you had your COVID-19 vaccination? – please tell us now
The County Council is required to submit data to the Government this Friday (12 February) on the numbers of eligible health and social care staff who have had a COVID-19 vaccination.
If you have had the first or second dose of your COVID-19 vaccination or have an appointment booked for your vaccination, please can you ensure that you complete the following short survey.
The survey will only take you a couple of minutes to complete and will help us to provide accurate data to the Government.
Vaccination doesn’t negate the need for social distancing and hand hygiene
Whilst having the full course of the vaccine will reduce the chance of you suffering from COVID-19, you may still be at risk of catching it and spreading it to other people. Therefore, it is important that everyone continues to follow current government guidance around delivering care and support and follows current advice to stay safe.
