This message is for eligible staff who work in Adults and Health Services and Children, Young People and Learning Service (Social Care, including Early Help.)
The take up of COVID-19 vaccinations amongst our eligible health and social care staff continues to make good progress. It is important that all eligible health and social care staff can be vaccinated as quickly as possible.
We have been informed by the NHS that the St Richard’s Hospital vaccination centre in Chichester has plenty of availability to vaccinate staff today and tomorrow. If you have not booked an appointment already, or have booked one for a later date and could get down to the centre today or tomorrow please do this. You can book your appointment here: BOOK NOW at Richard’s Hospital COVID-19 vaccination centre Worthing Hospital also has good availability on Sunday too: BOOK NOW at Worthing Hospital COVID-19 vaccination centre
Important: when on the booking screen click on the ‘show more’ bar to reveal many more times you can choose from.
We are asking managers to be as flexible as possible about releasing staff whilst recognising the need to ensure that we do not compromise service delivery. This is in line with our corporate policy, which allows reasonable time off for appointments.
What to take when you attend your appointment
Do not attend a vaccine centre if you do not have a booked appointment. When attending your appointment please take:
-
Identification to confirm your status as a health and social care worker. Take your photo staff/work ID. If you do not have photo ID, please bring a payslip and we would advise also a letter from your manager (please find a link to a template letter that your manager can use) and another form of photo ID, such as your driver’s license or passport. If you do not have access to a printer for the letter please download it onto your phone or other mobile device and take with you in case you need to show it to the vaccination centre.
-
Your NHS number with you to your appointment if you have it. You can still have your vaccination without it but having your number to hand will make your appointment quicker and easier. You can get you NHS number from a prescription, from any letter from your GP or hospital, from Online Services if you use this with your GP, or download and register with the NHS App.
-
A face mask to wear when you attend your vaccination.
Please look out for a more detailed update on the vaccination programme in the staff newsletters this afternoon.
