Dear residents and partners,
Next Friday 17 July, you are invited to hear the very latest news on our response to Covid-19 and our focus for the rest of this year, when they are debated at a virtual meeting of our Full Council. This will be the first time that our Full Council has met since February, as the meetings in April and May were cancelled due to the pandemic. If you can’t watch live there’s also a catch-up option.
How to watch the Full Council meeting online.
This week we were pleased to hear further announcements from government that more industries can reopen. From this Saturday outdoor swimming pools can open and performing arts can take place outside. From Monday 13 July, beauticians, tattooists, spas, tanning salons and other close-contact services can also reopen. Finally, from Saturday 25 July indoor gyms, swimming pools and sports facilities may reopen.
We are also encouraged by the business support available to those small firms that may benefit from advice from expert advisers via the Recovery Advice for Business scheme. The platform is supported by the government and hosted on the Enterprise Nation website. It aims to help businesses recover from the coronavirus pandemic and prepare for long-term recovery.
Other highlights from this week are below.
Keep safe and thank you for your continued support.
