West Sussex County Council sent this bulletin at 09-06-2019 10:02 PM BSTWest Sussex is expecting heavy showers that may lead to difficult driving conditions, disruption to transport, localised surface water and river flooding.
Whilst some places will miss the worst of the rain 10 - 25mm of rain may occur quite widely, with some areas potentially seeing up to 60 mm and much of this falling in less than 6 hours.
There is a chance that heavy prolonged rainfall could lead to local flooding and disruption to transport.
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
- Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads
