Keeping our
Stakeholders and Partners informed
Safer Sleep
Every year, over 500 babies die suddenly and unexpectedly and over half of those deaths remain unexplained. The causes of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) are not known but there are simple steps parents can take to reduce the risk of it happening.
Pop up parenting support day in Worthing & Adur
We are excited to have launched our first Crowdfunding fundraising initiative! Following the success of our School Readiness workshops in 2018, we wish to run a one day pop up parenting event in Worthing & Adur this year and we NEED your pledge. Please pledge £2 and together help us to raise a total of £6,000 to support 75 families in a day.
We only receive your funds IF we hit the total required. Take a look at the project.
FORGET MOMO, WE ARE MIND OF MY OWN
As we are sure you are aware, there is unfortunately now a very negative connotation of the acronym MOMO, which Mind Of My Own (an app to hear children and young people’s views) have been using as a short version of the name for the last few years.
Over the last couple of days there has been significant coverage in the press into what was a hoax, however, there are likely to be real copycat events in the following period of time. Mind Of My Own have therefore taken the decision to no longer use the abbreviated version of Mind Of My Own. There will be a new logo design, their website has been updated and all resources will be changed.
Please ensure any posters or leaflets you have a stock of are not used. Please wait for the new ones to be published on their website. We will keep you posted of new resources once they become available. Please contact Sarah Dimmock for more information on this.

Are you promoting ChatHealth?
ChatHealth is a confidential text messaging service that enables those aged between 11-19 in West Sussex to send questions via SMS to their School Nursing Team (PH Nurses). ChatHealth text service is an easy way for young people to confidentially ask for help about a range of issues or make an appointment with a School Nurse. They can find out how to access other local services including emotional support or sexual health services.
Messages sent to the dedicated number (07480 635424) are delivered to a secure website, and responded to by a West Sussex School Nurse. Texts are usually replied to within one working day. Read opening times on the YourSpace website.
A secure “app” will be introduced later this year, enabling students to speak with a nurse by instant messages on smartphones. The aim is to further improve access to healthcare for young people and to continue improving the quality and safety of the service.
