We’re
in it for the long run. Come help us through this fun run!
On Thursday 23 March at 12.30pm, West Sussex County Council and
Chichester District Council are joining together for a sponsored 5K Fun Run
with all money raised going to the Corporate Parenting Fund.
Based at Oaklands Park, the run costs £5 to enter
and you can help raise additional money by getting sponsored (download sponsorship form).
If you don’t think you’re up to the challenge,
run leaders from Chichester District Council and Everyone Active Chichester
are starting a free ‘Couch to 5K’ (C25K) beginner’s run club.
To find out more about signing up for the C25K
group and the 5K Fun Run, visit The Point.
If you are going to sign up, let us
know, so we can support each other in the lead up.

Tenner Challenge
Tenner Challenge is a FREE national competition for young people who want to get a taste of what it’s like to be an entrepreneur. Tenner gives them a chance to think of a new business idea and make it happen, using real money to take risks in the business field, make a profit – and make a difference.

Sussex Clubs for Young People
Sussex Clubs for Young People are planning a Spring
Conference on Saturday 22nd April 2017 for its members. Membership
is free and the benefits are shown on our website at www.sussexcyp.org.uk.
We know that for every youth club and every committee there
are jobs that have to be done. "Who washes the tea towels?" is a very
practical question that anyone looking after a hall or youth club will have to
answer at some time. Often these sort of jobs are picked up by the unsung
heroes of every voluntary group.
Sussex Clubs for Young People wants to build a strong and
independent voluntary youth sector that can support young people in their
communities.
We are working with the University of Brighton to provide a
conference with "nuggets" of training opportunities that will support
your whole club. Not just the safeguarding and youth work training but a chance
to meet with others to think about all those practical issues but also to ask
questions of experienced practitioners in their fields.
Our dream is that for our Spring Conference on Saturday
22nd April 2017 your committee chair, treasurer, safeguarding
officer, youth worker and young volunteers will come together to take part in a
range of bite-sized courses and seminars to help you fund-raise, manage your club,
plan how to develop and prepare young people. It will also put you in touch
with people who can offer more advice and training if you want to take your
learning further.
This link will take you to a short survey which helps us to
identify what you would like to see and what training would help you: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/3J9BGDX
Please share it with your committee, your young volunteers,
your youth workers and anyone who you think would benefit from this day.
