During periods of extreme cold weather it is important that we stay warm and well. Heat your home to at least 18°C and remember to check on those who are vulnerable by calling them to make sure they are warm. Financial support is available for those in need.

The current West Berkshire Community Fund of £13,597 is being distributed to twelve local charities registered with the West Berkshire Lottery, following a review of applications by an independent panel.
The amount in the community fund comes from West Berkshire Lottery players who nominate it as their good cause when they buy a lottery ticket. Read more about the local charities here.
Play the West Berkshire Lottery to support local good causes and for the chance to win cash prizes up to the £25,000 jackpot each week.
Please help us keep West Berkshire beautiful and a safe place to work and live. If you spot something that needs fixing or tidying, whether on roads, open spaces or Council car parks, please let us know by using our online Report a Problem facility: www.westberks.gov.uk/reportaproblem
For reporting potholes or any road surface defects there is a mapping feature in the Report a Problem facility that will enable you to pinpoint exactly where the issue is on the map.
We take legal action on fly tipping, which is the illegal dumping of waste.
You can read about our successful prosecution against a Hampshire resident for fly tipping on the Ridgeway on this page.

For Valentine’s Day, West Berkshire Care Homes would welcome cards and messages for our residents, who haven't had much contact with the outside world due to the pandemic.
Thank you very much for the special Valentine's Day mail that has already been sent - and we were grateful to receive photos of youngsters who've been taking part (pictured above)!
Any post will be handled with care and quarantined in line with infection control measures to ensure the safety of all our residents and staff.
