Business Continuity – managing disruption, shocks and risk

business continuity

Join us at the Technology Centre, Wolverhampton Science Park, for a breakfast briefing on ‘Managing Business Continuity’ on Thursday 8th September.

Whilst Covid was not foreseen, and required many to be reactive and to think on their feet; there are many other things that can be foreseen and ideally should be planned for.

IT system failures, fires and floods, major theft, supplier collapse, and numerous other issues can all be planned for. The Council's Business Resilience Team will help you plan and build resilience. The interactive workshop will begin with a networking breakfast at 8am, followed by a 45-minute presentation, finishing with a Q&A session.

This event is supported via funding from the European Regional Development Fund.

Care Leavers Week

care givers

Care Leavers Week will run from 24th - 28th October and we are reaching out to organisations and businesses to help to donate items to use for activities during the week and also as prizes to be won by our Care Leavers. We would be massively grateful of anything you could offer our Care Leavers; some of the things we are currently on the lookout for include:

  • Craft Materials – paints, brushes, pens, pencils, small canvases etc.
  • Small flat pack furniture – we are hoping to use these for a “Task Master” game for the young people to show off their independent living skills
  • Beauty/Well Being items - Face masks, nail varnish, skin care etc.
  • Food Donations – we are looking to host a “Food from Around the World” evening alongside a film so any donations/support in providing some interesting meals would be wonderful.
  • Prizes to giveaway - Amazon Vouchers, Vouchers to use in Local Businesses (cafes, restaurants etc) etc.

If you are able to support with any of the above or wish to host a Care Leaver Week event (this is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the successes of our Care Leavers in the City, and to inspire them to achieve their full potential) please get in touch with Hannah Finch (Corporate Parenting Officer) at Hannah.Finch@wolverhampton.gov.uk before 16 September 2022.
