VIDEO: City residents land jobs at new store

The Deputy Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Greg Brackenridge has opened the new B&M store at Wolverhampton’s Mander Centre.

Wolves at Work employment programme has helped the major retailer successfully recruit city residents into the 60 jobs.

More than 90 per cent (55) of the Customer Service and Replenishment assistant vacancies have been filled by City of Wolverhampton residents – and 37 of them were previously unemployed.

B&M is situated in a 52,000 sq ft store on the upper mall, taking space in a large unit formerly occupied by BHS. Read more...

Morris Property set to develop prime i54 site

Leading Midlands contractor Morris Property has been commissioned to build the new manufacturing plant for sister company Morris Site Machinery after planners gave the go-ahead for the £6million investment at i54.

Work will start on November 11 to deliver more than 60,000 sq ft of manufacturing and office space at the flagship site next to Jaguar Land Rover on the i54 South Staffordshire high-tech business park.

When the 12 months building programme is complete, it will enable Morris Site Machinery to relocate from its existing base at Four Ashes, three miles away to its own purpose-built base. Read more...

City of Wolverhampton entrepreneur becomes face of ebay campaign

A local business owner from Wolverhampton has been selected by eBay to appear in the company’s latest advertising campaign, showing off her used clothing sales business which is thriving on the marketplace.

eBay has unveiled the new advert featuring Vita Kreslina, co-owner of AllHappyCustomers, which will appear on billboards across Wolverhampton.

The entrepreneur started her journey as a market seller in Wolverhampton and, just two years ago, decided to start selling her stock of second-hand clothing and shoes on eBay during the Christmas break. Vita joined eBay UK’s Retail Revival partnership with City of Wolverhampton Council in 2018 and has since seen significant growth of her business, with sales worth around £40k since the start of this year. City's new five-year Housing Strategy is approved by council's Cabinet

City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet has approved a new five-year Housing Strategy for the city.

Residents and stakeholders were consulted on the new strategy ‘Better Homes for All’, which sets out the council’s ambitions from 2019 to 2024.

It outlines the three key priorities as more and better homes, safer and healthier homes, and access to a secure home. Read more...
