Voice4Parents

Voice4Parents - Get involved!

Voice4Parents is an independent forum of parents and carers whose children and young people have a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged 0-25 years.  They represent the wider views of parents and carers and work together with the Local Authority and Health providers in Wolverhampton to shape the services provided for them and their families.  Voice4Parents would like other parents and carers of children with SEND to be part of its wider membership. Members will receive updates about the work Voice4Parents is involved in, be given opportunities to help shape local services and be invited to attend events and social gatherings to meet other parents and carers.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2019

The Mental Health Foundation (MHF), runs this from Monday 13 to Sunday 19 May 2019. The theme for 2019 is Body Image – how we think and feel about our bodies.

Body image issues can affect all of us at any age. During the week MHF will be publishing new research, considering some of the reasons why our body image can impact the way that we feel, campaigning for change and publishing practical tools.

Since the first Mental Health Awareness Week in 2001, MHF raised awareness of topics like stress, relationships, loneliness, altruism, sleep, alcohol and friendship. To raise awareness during the week, Wolverhampton Libraries, Community Support and Carer Support are working together to offer information, advice and support around promoting a positive body image. There will be a coffee morning on Thursday 16th May at Wolverhampton Central Library as well as other workshops and activities.

Look out for further information in libraries and community centres as well as on Social Media @WolvesLibraries @CommunityOffer and @WolvesCarers
