CQC want your views on a
number of proposals for implementing their five-year strategy. This follows the
Strategy document for 2016 to 2021 which sets out a vision for a more targeted,
responsive and collaborative approach to regulation, so that more people get
high-quality care. More information is available at:
https://improvement.nhs.uk/resources/consultation-use-resources-and-well-led-assessments.
A further consultation,
which will focus on how we will regulate adult social care and primary medical
services and further detail of changes we want to make to how we register
providers, will take place in Spring 2017.

Integrated Urgent Care West Midlands Service
regional team
As you may be aware, we
have recently developed a new West Midlands-wide Integrated Urgent Care
Service. The new service combines NHS 111 and GP out of hours (OOH) services
across the sixteen West Midlands CCGs.
Patients now have
quicker access to the healthcare advice or service they need by dialling 111. As part of the
service, we have developed a Clinical Hub including, among others, GPs, pharmacists,
mental health practitioners and dental nurses.
The Clinical Hub enables
patients to speak to a healthcare professional directly over the phone,
removing steps from the process and providing a better, more all-round service.
Now that the service has
launched we’d like to invite members of the public to some Patient Days at the
call centre to see the Integrated Urgent Care Service first hand and learn
about how the Clinical Hub works and plays its part. This will be on Thursday, 12 January 2017
The visit will be held
at the Integrated Urgent Care Service call centre at Navigation Point, Unit 6,
Waterfront Business Park, Waterfront Way, Brierley Hill, DY5 1LX.
If you would like to
attend then email your name and telephone number to robbiepalmer@nhs.net.
