residents are once again being asked to make a positive change in their street,

Make:Shift – the
ideas forum – is this year celebrating its fifth anniversary.
The free event will
take place on Saturday, October 15, at The Old School, 73 Dudley Road,

 Business Week sparks China visit opportunity
A City of Wolverhampton Council delegation will head to
China later this month after forging international links during Wolverhampton
Business Week.
Civic and business leaders from Anqing spent three
days in Wolverhampton where they were shown around the i54 site, Tata Steel in Wednesfield, and Marston’s Brewery in
the city centre.
As part of a Midlands Engine for Growth contingent, council
leaders will now be flying out to China for five days on October 30. Read more...
SMEs across the Black Country are being given the
opportunity to grow their businesses by tapping into a new European Regional
Development Fund (ERDF) scheme led by the City of Wolverhampton Council,
working in partnership
with Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall councils.
The capital and revenue grant scheme, Black Country
Transformational GOLD (BCT GOLD) delivers financial assistance and access to
development support to businesses.
The BCT GOLD scheme, which launches on Thursday, October 20,
2016, is primarily aimed at firms involved in advanced manufacturing, building
technologies, business services, environmental technologies, transport

Deansgate luxury offices development boost for Wolverhampton
City of
Wolverhampton Council planners have been praised for their support in the
refurbishment of a landmark Grade II-listed Wolverhampton building for luxury serviced
offices.
The former HMRC VAT
office at Deansgate on Tettenhall Road has been converted into 28 offices,
ranging in size from 1,540 sq ft to 226 sq ft, following a £2.8 million
investment by developer and local businessman Surj Dhami.
Two companies – one
from outside Wolverhampton - have already signed up as tenants and another firm
from outside the city has expressed an interest in the largest office. Read more...

City Centre Area Action Plan to help frame regeneration ambitions
City of Wolverhampton Council has adopted the Wolverhampton
City Centre Area Action Plan (AAP) to help steer its regeneration ambitions.
The plan covers the area within the ring road and
incorporates the University Quarter, Molineux Quarter, Canalside Quarter,
Interchange, St Peter's Cultural Quarter, Shopping Core, Westside and St John's
and St George's.
Surrounding areas All Saints, Blakenhall and Graiseley,
and West Park, including Chapel Ash, are also part of it. Read more...
A City of
Wolverhampton Council scheme to deliver bespoke council houses for families
with an adult wheelchair user has been short-listed for a Chartered Institute
of Housing (CIH) Midlands award.
The housing
development team is in the running for the Development of the Year award for
its work on the Lawnside Green project in Stowlawn, Bilston.
The build has been completed in partnership with
Heantun Housing Association (HHA) and part funded by a Government Homes and
Communities Agency (HCA) grant. Read more... |
