 Wolverhampton launches 'Vision 2030'
Leader of the City of Wolverhampton Council, Roger Lawrence, this week unveiled the "New Horizons: Our Vision for the City of Wolverhampton in 2030" to city partners.
The document, details how the city can secure a sustainable, successful future for the next generation of Wulfrunians, and was drafted following consultation with key city stakeholders.
More than 100 representatives from the business, education and public sectors, from around the city and beyond, saw it launched at a partners event staged at the City of Wolverhampton Science Park.
As well as hearing from Councillor Lawrence about the ‘Vision 2030’ speakers included Managing Director of rapidly expanding Wolverhampton-based company Thompson AVC, Scott Thompson, and recent OBE award winner Georgetta Holloway, Executive Head Teacher at Heath Park and Moseley Park Schools. Fresh era for the city's Mander Centre
This month marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Wolverhampton’s Mander Centre with a new centre manager joining and owner Benson Elliot kick-starting the £35 million refurbishment of the centre, due for completion in Autumn 2017.
The refurbishment is one of the most significant private sector investments in the city over the last 20 years. It will help to enhance Wolverhampton’s retail offer, attract new retailers, including a Debenhams store, and create up to 150 new local jobs.

Former Netto demolition underway
Regeneration plans for Wolverhampton’s Southside area have taken a significant step forward with full demolition of the former Netto building underway.
The supermarket chain took over the Snow Hill site from Rackhams and vacated it in 2012.
The site is expected to be cleared by April and it will then be incorporated into the main car park to the rear of the property, with the income generated used to support the demolition costs. For full gallery and to read more...
 Wolverhampton features in BBC One series 'The Housing Enforcers'
City of Wolverhampton Council housing officers feature in the new series of BBC One daytime show, The Housing Enforcers.
Everyone's house should be fit to call a home, but for many that is far from reality.This new series of 20 45-minute episodes over 4 weeks sees consumer champion Matt Allwright teaming up with Britain's housing officers to help tenants in need.
