Work Starts on Further Building Improvements at Ysgol Clywedog

Work has started on building a new entrance to the school and a large Key Stage 4 study area area at Ysgol Clywedog.

The project will be undertaken by Read Construction and are expected to be completed by the start of 2020. Preparation works that have already taken place on the site include the re-modelling of 3 rooms to create a Key Stage 4 study area which will aim to open this term.

The works are being carried out under the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools and Education Programme which, provides 50% of the funding for schools improvements with Wrexham Council providing the remaining funding. The Programme aims to transform the learning experience of students ensuring they are taught in an environment with the technologies and facilities needed to deliver a 21st Century curriculum.

RAMUNiform

Ysgol Clywedog new school uniform for September 2019

Change of uniform supplier for Ysgol Clywedog

We would like to introduce you to ‘RAM Leisure’ who are our new official supplier for the September 2019 uniform.

We have listened to your comments and feedback regarding the uniform and the location of our school supplier and the school has now partnered with RAM Leisure to deliver a cost effective, modern and efficient method to buy the new school uniform.

Obviously, there will be a period of transition and adjustment ready for the new uniform for September 2019, but RAM Leisure will have samples of the new blazers in their store to try on for size and then pre-order. Students and parents are welcome to call at the shop from now onwards.

As well as the new blazers for September 2019, there will be new jumpers and ties, with a different tie for year 11. If you need to replace a jumper and/or tie during the summer term it would be preferable to buy the new jumper or tie ready for September, rather than having to replace them again. This will be accepted as part of the transition uniform policy.

Those parents eligible for blazer discounts need to complete a form available on the school website and attached to this letter and return it to the school reception.

To purchase uniform:

Home Shopping Online – our uniform range will be available to purchase online via https://ourschoolwear.co.uk/collections/ysgol-clywedog

For those of you who wish to visit the store to purchase uniform or for ‘click and collect’, RAM Leisure’s address is shown below:

Tel: 01978 360360

Their opening hours are 9am – 5pm, Tuesday – Friday and 10am - 2pm Saturday.

We are confident that the ordering process will be professional and robust, and we hope you all share our enthusiasm for this new school uniform and supplier relationship.

5x60 Summer 2019

5x60 Timetable - Summer 2019

5x60 is the maths question your teacher never asked you!

5x60 is changing the face of provision of sport in schools and transforming playing fields and sports halls into hubs of bustling activity from daybreak to nightfall.

Through its Climbing Higher vision, the Welsh Government has laid down the fitness gauntlet by setting the target of seeing 90% of children taking part in regular and frequent activity by 2020.

5x60 is rising to the challenge by helping to create the environment necessary for children to take part in extra curricular sport and physical activity on a regular basis.

The Activities

Armed with a blank sheet of paper and a whole host of ideas, 5X60 officers speak to students before deciding on a programme of activities.

That way, the students get a say in what they would like to do whether it's dodgeball, cheerleading or netball or other activities.

Come and get involved!
