Dragon Boat Teams Corporate Games

Fantastic result for Coventry and Warwickshire in the Corporate Games

The recent Europe Corporate Games was a big hit, with teams from organisations all over the UK coming to Coventry to participate in events from karting to golf, and netball to dragon boat racing.

Events were held over three days with both Coventry City Council and Warwickshire County Council employees playing a big part of the action and competing against teams from Vodafone, Virgin and Domino’s Pizza, among others. Both teams put in fantastic performances, winning a combined total of 64 medals and both coming in the top ten out of 51 teams!

The games were not only a fantastic opportunity to reinforce Coventry's reputation as a friendly, welcoming city, they also showed how powerful sport can be in bringing people together and how important it is, both for our physical and mental health.

In many cases it has helped to build new friendships, and has ignited or reignited a sporting passion, motivating people to carry on in the hope of improving and getting a little fitter and healthier - which is exactly what the Year of Wellbeing is all about!
