Year of Wellbeing at the Godiva Festival this weekend!

With family activities, like the fairground and petting farm, plus live music, comedy and the sporting arena, there really is something for everyone at this year's Godiva Festival!

Head along to War Memorial Park 5 - 7 July and you can join in the fun - just remember you need tickets this year!  Tickets are £2 per person and can be bought online here.

Don't forget to look out for the Year of Wellbeing while you're there, pay our stand a visit and make your pledge for the year!

Sports Fest is back and bigger than ever, celebrating the European City of Sport. Every day between 13 and 22 August, Broadgate in Coventry will be hosting lots of free sporty and wellbeing activities for families and people of all abilities to take part in.

Summer Games all ready to go

The Summer Games sees hundreds of secondary and primary school pupils from across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull take part in fun sports events this week (4-5 July), all organised by CSW Sport. This all follows national School Sport Week, which took place in the last week of June.

Health Information Week

This week is Health Information Week!

Don’t miss out on all the information that might help keep you well, including this information session at Coventry Central Library, 12.30pm on 4 July, on examining your own breasts to protect against breast cancer.

Residents in Warwickshire are being encouraged to learn how they can lead a healthier and more active lifestyle in a variety of ways, from exploring more active travel, to taking an online test to discover your risk of developing Type 1 diabetes.

Safe Haven Warwickshire

Launch of Safe Haven Service Warwickshire

People in Leamington Spa and Nuneaton can now access out of hours mental health support thanks to the launch of the Warwickshire Safe Haven Service.

Run by Mental Health Matters (MHM), the provision has been commissioned by Warwickshire County Council on behalf of the Better Care, Better Health, Better Value programme for Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing.

No appointment or referral is needed, and carers and family are welcome too.

Good Gym set to come to Warwickshire

The GoodGym scheme will be coming to Warwickshire in September, helping to tackle growing obesity concerns as well as addressing issues affecting our ageing population, such as loneliness and social isolation. 

The recommendations recently agreed by Cabinet, also include an enhanced Timebanking proposal to pilot and establish a new model of community-led support across Warwickshire.

Hot weather advice

Watch out in hot weather!

These simple guidelines are designed to help us all stay safe as hot weather arrives this summer. If you know someone who might be at risk, please take time to share these guidelines with them.

Also, when you're enjoying the outdoors don't forget to be tick aware! Public Health England has issued this good advice to help keep you and your family free from tick bites or related illnesses during the hot weather.

The Year of Wellbeing is organised by the Coventry and Warwickshire Health and Wellbeing Boards which include representation from all of the NHS organisations in our area, together with Healthwatch, local councils, the police and the fire service. The aim of the year is to share resources to support stronger, healthier communities, and to promote the important of taking action to improve health and wellbeing.
